Birthday surprise!

Ever since we got married almost five years ago, Jon hasn't really done anything for me for my Birthday or Mothers Day, or any holiday really. We don't even go on dates ever. So this year for my Birthday he went all out and surprised me. First we went and ate dinner at the Grey Cliff Lodge- which was really yummy, especially their oatmeal pie! Then we stayed in the Alaskan Inn (where I've got better sleep than I have since I have had kids, I seriously crashed once I got there. It was so nice not having to get kids ready for bed!) Then the following day we went out to Antelope Island and went on a two hour horse ride. It was fun, I like horseback riding, but definitely do not love it. But it was fun with Jon. After the horseback riding we went on a dinner cruise on the Great Salt Lake. The dinner cruise was nice because there was only 14 people total, and the food was amazing, we had prime rib!! Plus we got to see the sunset which was absolutely beautiful! Jon went to so much effort to make my birthday special this year, and he did a good job! My birthday actually fell the next day, which was Sunday, so my mom made us an awesome dinner! She was so sweet, she got on the internet and researched my food allergies, and centered the whole meal around my food allergies! It was actually very good, we had steak, rice, fruit, and veggies. Then for dessert she made me a cake with rice flour and no eggs, but the first time she forgot to put the sugar in, so she remade it, and the second time forgot the oil. Surprisingly, it was very good even without the oil, it was just more dense. She also made me chocolate ice-cream out of rice milk, that too tasted really good. I think this was one of my best birthdays because so many loved ones went to so much effort to make it nice!! Thank you Jon and Mom! I love you both!! (Jon I love you a lot more though! No offense mom)

Life

A few posts ago I wrote that I found out I was allergic to most foods out there. This is no lie! I always get extremely sick whenever I eat! My stomach gets extremely sharp pains in it, and I get super sick. Anyway, I found out that I was allergic to those foods, and I am supposed to be following a strict diet. Can I tell you how difficult it is to suddenly give up every food you love! The problem is, the foods I can eat, I have to basically eat them plain. I talked to my aunt Jaydene, who has the same problems as me, and she told me ideas of how to eat. But I haven't been grocery shopping yet, and so I haven't been following any kind of diet, and therefore have stayed sick! I am completely drained of energy, but even though I am in pain a lot, and have no energy, and stuff like that, I still have to live life. I am a mother and a wife. I have responsibilities, and I decided that no matter how sick I get, I can't use it as an excuse for not doing things. I think it is extremely important to support everyone, no matter how awful I feel. My opinion is that unless you are deathly ill and in the hospital, you have responsibilities in life. I just wanted to make that clear that is how I feel! I am probably going to post regularly on how my diet is going. I need to acknowledge it.

K next thing that is going on in life- I have a new niece! Addisyn was born 4 weeks early on May 20th! Everyone considers her a miracle baby, she knew she needed to get here and figured out a way to do it. My sister-in-law was involved in a car accident, and delivered her that night. She has to have C-sections. So as they cut her open and pulled little Addi out, her umbilical cord was in a full knot (I think that was the terminology they used) and if she had gone longer she may not have made it. She was 5 lbs 6 oz and 19 inches long, and is a healthy baby girl. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures. She is the 15th grandchild in the Carbine family and 5th girl! The picture above was taken the day after Abbie's party when the whole family was together on May 18th. Mike and Janene are on the far right side, she is the one who had the baby 2 days later! She is so small huh!

Abbie's 1st Birthday

Here are the pictures I promised of Abbie Cadabbys birthday party. Abby Cadabby is one of the newest Sesame Street characters for those who don't know. The first picture is Abbie on her actual birthday, the party was 2 days later, so we could do it on a Saturday. Since we are living with Jons parents now, I told my mother-in-law I wasn't doing anything on Abbie's birthday so she went and bought hostess cupcakes, so Abbie could still have cake. Then the rest of the pictures are of her party. It was so fun! I got a pinata and we played water balloon volleyball. It was a blast!
