The other day we were sitting in our front room and I was looking at our tree and I said, "Jon, do you think OUR TREE is boring?"
Jon: "Why would you ask me that?"
Me: "Well, I don't know it just seems like OUR TREE is a little boring!"
Jon: "Well I have never done it, how would I know?"
Me: "Well, I just think maybe it's too plain and boring. Why do you not think so?"
Jon: "Well, I don't know. I don't know if it's boring or not. How boring do you think it would be? You get a bow and an arrow and you shoot stuff."
Me: "What the heck are you talking about?"
Jon: "You asked me if ARCHERY was boring. I don't know. I have never done it."
Me: "Not ARCHERY, OUR TREE!!!???"
Jon: "Oh, I think it looks very good."

Kaylee comes running in to me the other day and says, "Mom! I know what I want for Christmas!!!!" So I said, "What do you want?" And she gets really excited and says, "I want my very own laptop!!!"
YEA RIGHT!

On a side note. Our little Kenzie is growing up so much! She is sitting up and has started scooting. She always has something important to say, and when she decides she wants to say something she is going to say it. Even if it is 2:00 in the morning. I love my girls! I am so happy that Kenzie is such an angelic baby!!

Funny children
Kids can just crack a person up sometimes! I thought I would share some of the recent conversations I have had with my kids!
A few weeks ago, I made a roast for Sunday dinner after church. Jon didn't have any homework that day, which hasn't happened for a long time. So we set the table and all sat down to eat, then Kaylee suddenly said, "OH, this is the BEST day EVER!!!" We said, "Why is this the best day ever?" And she responded, "Because we are eating dinner together as a family at the table!!"
*Doesn't that show what GREAT parents we have been lately? LOL!
* * *
Last week after one of the snow storms, I had to shovel the driveway because Jon hadn't showed me how to use the snow blower. Our driveway is massively huge, so it took a really long time. Kaylee was at school, and Kenzie was asleep so Abbie got into her snow clothes and came outside with me. She played in the snow while I shoveled. All of the sudden she comes running up to me and says, "Mom-- I am having such a bad day!" I asked, "Why are you having a bad day?" And she said, "Because of all this snow!"
* * *
On Thanksgiving morning, Abbie came in and climbed into bed with Jon and me. She has been waking up fairly early lately, anyway, I said, "Abbie, do you know what today is?" And she said, "No, what?" I said, "Thanksgiving!" and she asked, "what's that?" I said, "It's where we eat lots of food." And she responded, "No mom. It's because the Pirates got on BIG BOATS and came here!"
*I think she mixed up a few stories somewhere! Still, very cute!
* * *
My parents went to Texas for Thanksgiving to spend it with my sister and her family. Yesterday I had to go pick them up from the airport. Kaylee was at school, so Abbie and Kenzie were with me. We got my parents and Annie picked up and started driving home, and my mom said, "Abbie, did you have a nice Thanksgiving?" And she said, "No, I didn't. But KK did!" (She calls Kaylee KK). Everyone started laughing then my mom said, "Did you miss me?" And she said, "No. But KK did."
Well there ya go....
* * *
Abbie has been a thumb sucker, Jon wanted her to stop, so it wouldn't screw up her teeth. He told her if she quit sucking her thumb she could have anything she wanted. Well, she said she wanted a Barbie Plane and a Barbie Kitchen. Jon said okay--- she quit sucking her thumb the next day. I told her if she kept not sucking her thumb then we would ask Santa to bring those. Well, the Barbie Plane is $90--- thought you would like to know that---- luckily I found a Little People Plane on sale at Shopko for $14.99---she wont know the difference will she???
* * *
Speaking of Christmas, we have been asking the girls what they want for Christmas. Kaylee didn't really answer the question at first. But immediately Abbie said, "I want candy...... AND a lollipop!! That's all" I guess that is easy enough, right? We asked her again a week later and she said, "I want my own pillow pet..........AND my own eggnog!! That's all!" (Kaylee got two pillow pets for her birthday, and she gave Abbie one of them, but Abbie thinks it's still Kaylee's I guess.) She also keeps saying she wants a Barbie Plane. I guess I could make Barbie vinyl and put it on the Little People Plane, right? Anyway, so Kaylee hasn't really said a lot when we have asked her. So today I asked her, and she said, "I want some Squinkies..... AND my own Ipod!" Hmmmm, let's see---- she is 6!! And she is already asking for an Ipod..... it's gonna be some fun times with that little girl!
Anyway, my girls have been cracking me up lately. They come up with the funniest stuff. It makes life such a joy!

Much Fun!
I know, I am never on the ball when it comes to blogging. But I always eventually get around to it. Last month Abbie went on a Field Trip to Black Island Farms.
I couldn't go to the beginning, so my Mom took her, she said that Abbie went straight to the Pumpkin she wanted and sat down next to it so nobody else would take it.
This was Abbie with a few of my cousins kids. They all go to the same Preshool. It is fun to still get to see family so often.
Me and my girls!
They always have so much fun together. They are really best friends.
I know I did a Halloween post already, but I couldn't help but post this adorable picture of my nephew Noah.
And my brother Jay and his wife Bethany AKA Mario and Peach!
My little Kaylee turned 6 on November 12th. She had her first Birthday Party with her friends. It was a lot of fun. Except, even though I planned everything, there was half an hour left and I didn't have anything left to do. Half the kids wanted to do something, and the other half didn't and vice versa, but I think it all turned out okay.
I made those cute ice cream cone cupcakes. They were so easy and the kids loved them. They were also way less messy than regular cupcakes.
Kaylee's cute Kindergarten picture. We were able to order a disk with the pictures on it, which was very nice. Especially for digital scrapbooking!
Our nephew Noah celebrated his first Birthday the same day as Kaylee's birthday. So, Emily and Danny had a Birthday Party for him. He is so adorable and it was lots of fun.
This was Jon and Kenzie at the Birthday Party. They really know how to party as you can see. I think this picture is just precious.
EXCITING!! Annie got her mission call.......
Sister Love-- called to serve in the Arcadia California mission Spanish Speaking. She will enter the MTC on Feb 23rd.
Nick and Stacey were there for the call.....
Annie also turned 22 last week, so we celebrated her birthday.

Halloween
We had some fun Halloween times this year!
This was Saturday night when we took the kids trick or treating.
This was actually a week before when we went to our ward Halloween Party!
This was at my cousin, Heathers, Halloween party. She does such a good job at throwing a party!
The whole group
Every year my dad make a pumpkin man for Halloween. This year the Pumpkin man dressed up as Santa and Rudolph.

Can we say slacker??
Well, it has been WAY too long since I have posted anything on this blog. Below are pictures of the rest of our summer and beginning of school. We took the girls to This is The Place State Park at the end of the summer. Courtesy of a half off coupon we got on godealgo. They had a lot of fun there riding horses and the trains and panning for gold. It was a lot of fun. It is always fun to see a smile on your childrens faces.
Kaylee started Kindergarten this year. We got pictures of her first day of school and also of her assessment. Jon actually took off work for both. He took 124 pictures of her assessment alone. Of course I only posted a few. Her teachers name is Mrs. Carter. She was so excited to start school. The bus came and she was extremely excited to ride the bus, of course I cried as the bus pulled up. I didn't mean to. The tears just came! She is doing very well in school and loves every second.
Abbie also started school. It is her first year of preschool. I wasn't going to put her in preschool this year because I was worried about how she would do, but then I changed my mind because I felt like she is way too shy and it would help her break out of that shell a little bit. Plus, my extremely good friend Jessica started a preschool this year and I knew Abbie would be in good hands. Jessica did a really good job at the school in her basement. Anyway, the first day of school Abbie went and had a good time, but the next morning she woke up with a fever of 103. Well the next day it went to 104. I took her into the doctor and she had a severe ear infection. She slept for like 3 days straight. I kept her home from school the following Tuesday, but then by Thursday she was much better. When I went to take her to school she cried and said she was sick and needed to stay home with me. Apparently school was very traumatic for her. But now she loves it! She begs me to go to school and is doing much better.
Kenzie is growing up extremely fast! She is such a cutie pie. She has the prettiest smile. She is always so happy and sleeps very well. Now, when I say she sleeps very well I don't mean that she doesn't wake up to eat. She sure does, every 2 hours. But she just eats and goes right back to sleep so it isn't too bad. You would think with her being the third she wouldn't be very spoiled. But she is. She has to be held all the time.... But I love that little girl so it's ok. She is a fun, good baby!
My parents have some neighbors across the street that founded the Hope Kids Utah chapter. Hope kids is an organization that provides support for the families of children with cancer or other terminal illnesses. They host activities and fundraisers throughout the year. A few weeks ago, they hosted a 5k/adventure walk at This is The Place State Park. I attended it with my parents, my brother Jay and his wife Bethany, and of course the kids. Jon was out at the Salt Flats flying his hovercraft. Anyway, it was such a fun event. We started out with the run/walk, then they had all these booths. They had a bounce house and slide, cotton candy, face painting, games, treats, pizza, snow cones, and silent auction. All of the stuff was free with the exception of paying for teams to participate in the 5k. They also accept donations at the event. A lot of the Hope Kids children were there. They are such beautiful children and it is hard to see that these small children go through so much. But all of the parents had a smile on their face seeing that their children could do something that would make them happy.
Also, make sure that you check out the post below this one. Jon officially did his first post on our blog. That is the reason I have been a single parent for the past several months-- his senior project. He has had 100% dedication to the project. Which is great, but also means he hasn't been around much. It will all be worth it in the end!
