Family Fun!!

A little over a week ago we had the most exciting news in a long time. We had made plans with my family to have a family dinner on Sunday the 14th, for my bro-in-law Danny's birthday. Well, Friday night, my mom called and told me she needed to change it to Saturday afternoon because they had a fireside on Sunday night. So, I said that was fine and we could be there. She told us to get there a little early so we could help get things ready. So Jon and I and our girls headed over to my moms to have nice family barbecue. We got there, and Emily and Danny weren't there yet, so the rest of us, which is just currently my family, Jay and Bethany, and our parents, were sitting on the couch talking. I was telling my mom that she needed to fly Nick and Stacey home sometime that summer because I was missing them way too much! Then the front door opened, so I look over because I was thinking that Emily and Danny were there, and this little blonde haired boy walked in and I was thinking, "who is that??" Then the door opened all the way and there was Stacey, Nick, and Faye!! I jumped off the couch and started screaming! I ran over and gave them all hugs, then I burst into tears! I was sooo excited to see my sister and her family again! They had arrived from Texas the night before and that was really why my mom changed the party, so we could see them. Nick had an interview the following Monday and it was his Spring Break, so that is why they were there! Emily and Danny actually couldn't come to the party, so it was funny that we were waiting for them and they wouldn't show up! They did drop off Noah though because they were going to a play!
Anyway, we spent the rest of the evening hanging out with them. The kids were just as excited and they acted like they were never apart, they just picked right up where they left off. Sunday we went back to spend more time with them, and Monday I took the girls over and hung out with Stacey. Then Tuesday they spent the day with Nicks family. On Wednesday was St. Patricks Day, and my mom has Wednesdays off work and my dad took off work and Jon got off early and we all headed to Boondocks. It was a beautiful day and everyone had so much fun!

At Boondocks, everyone did the go-carts, bumper boats, bowling, and then did the bumper boats again. I was unable to participate in the activities being so pregnant, so I took pictures. The one of everyone soaked was of everyone after the bumper boats. Then I had Jon take one of me, nice and dry! It was like my first pregnancy picture I have let be taken. I am 25 weeks in that picture.
After Boondocks, we went to my parents and had Pizza and watched Princess and the Frog!
On Thursday I watched Nick and Staceys kids so they could go to a movie. Before I went over I went to Fresh Market, because I decided I wanted to get them some travel snacks since they were leaving that night. I wanted to do something for them because they made my week by showing up. So I spent about $40 on snacks and drinks for them. When I checked out the checker asked if I wanted to enter their drawing, so I did. Anyway, that night Nick and Stacey left and I was sad to see them go. My week had been AMAZING!
On Saturday afternoon I got a call from Fresh Market saying that I had won a shopping spree and I needed to be there in 45 minutes. Jon was on his way home from work so I told him to hurry so he could come with me. We got there, and what it was was a 2 minute Western Family shopping spree. We walked the store first deciding what to get. Then we asked them if Jon could do it since I was pregnant. They allowed him to. When it was time for him to go, he made a mad dash! He was just like the contestants on that show Supermarket Sweep. He went straight to the baby isle and filled a whole cart with diapers and wipes. Then he went and got a bunch of cheese, and some canned fruits, then he only had a few seconds left so he just turned around and grabbed cookies for the rest of time! When they rang everything up, it ended up being $406 worth of stuff! It was sooo awesome! His mom took pictures of all the groceries with her camera, but I couldn't get my card reader to work so I couldn't post them.

Oh, and I forgot to post this picture! Stacey brought this blanket for me for Kenzie. I LOVE IT! She did such a good job and it is adorable!
Sorry for the massively long post, but it was all soo exciting!

Big Ultrasound!

Today I went in for the big ultrasound. I am 24 weeks! It was confirmed that she for sure is a girl. We have decided to name her Kenzie. It was kind of funny, in the ultrasound, the tech tried to get a picture of her face and she put her hand up in front of her face. Then she was looking at her stomach or something and she put her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her knees. Then she was checking to make sure it was a girl and she crossed her legs! It was so funny, but the tech was eventually able to check all of that. Every part of her looks good as of right now, which was very comforting! She only got a side view of the face, but we could see her profile and I could definitely tell that she is going to have the same nose as Abbies. Which is also the same nose as me and my sister Annie. Jon asked the tech if she could use some magic wand to change the gender. After she was done, she said to him, "You are going to have a really cute little girl! You should be glad that it's not a boy!" He agreed. I think for the first time in this pregnancy I am really excited for this little girl. I have been kind of iffy about having a third baby and how I was going to handle it, especially since Jon has a year of school left. But I know that we are meant to have this little girl and she will be a very special spirit in our home. I know that Heavenly Father truly will not give us anything we cannot handle at the current time, and I am really glad he is blessing our lives!

Hair loss!!!

I have been stressing out!!! I have always had really thick hair, and I have always complained that my hair is so thick and have always had it thinned out. Well, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing. Last week, I went to get my hair trimmed, and I have been going to the same hairstylist for almost 4 years, so she knows my hair pretty well. Anyway, she was talking to me and as she was cutting my hair, she said, "Ever since you got sick, your hair has thinned out a ton! I don't even have to thin it at all."

I had noticed that I was shedding an abnormal rate of hair since my surgery, but didn't think anything of it. But since she said that, I have kind of worried. Why would I suddenly start losing so much hair? And why am I still losing a lot, especially being pregnant. I have never lost very much hair during pregnancy, but there is still a lot of hair in the bathroom when I style my hair and when I wash it, a lot comes out.

Is this something I should worry about? Should I ask my doctor why this would be happening?? I guess I have taken my hair for granted, and I don't know if a medical condition would cause this, or if it is just a phase, but it has been over a year since the surgery and I am pregnant so I shouldn't be losing much hair, right? Does anyone have any comments or suggestions that may be helpful to me??

Boyfriends!!

Kaylee had her Valentines party at school yesterday. She came home and Abbie and her immediately began going through all of the Valentines. One of the little boys valentines had a picture of himself on it, so Kaylee took the picture off and hung it on our door. She showed me what she did and I said, "Kaylee, is that your boyfriend??" And she said, " No, mom! I don't have a boyfriend, Rex is just my friend!" So I just said Ok.
Abbie was sitting on the couch listening to this conversation, and she looked up and me and said, "Mom, I have a boyfriend!" So I looked at her and said, "You do??" And she said, "Yep, and hims three!" So I said, "Oh, what is your boyfriends name Abbie?" And she said, "I don't know, but hims three! Hims my boyfriend!"
She was so proud that apparantly she has a boyfriend, and he is an older man! It was so adorable! I don't think Jon was so excited about all of this starting already, but I think it's so cute!

Superbowl and Birthdays!

On Sunday, we went to my parents house for the superbowl and to have a family Birthday Party! Currently, only half the family is around. My sister and her family are in Texas while her hubby finishes grad school, my other sister is in Russia teaching English, and my youngest brother is on a mission in The Philippines.
Anyway, so at least the three February Birthdays were around. My sister Emily turned 29 on the 6th, Jon turned 28 on the 9th and my brother Jay turned 23 on the 9th as well.

The first picture is my dad, and youngest nephew Noah. As you can see, they are very intent on the game! It was intense I must say so myself!

The next picture is the three blowing out their candles, and of course the girls had to be the center of it all.

Then, the next two are Jons actual Birthday. Kaylee obviously staged that first picture really well. And, the next one is what he spent his Birthday doing----- homework! What is new?? That is his "study buddy" Tye in the background. I sometimes call him my second husband because he is here just as often as Jon is!

Anyway, it was fun to see family on Sunday, and Jon's birthday was fun even though he just did homework!

Funny!

So this is going to sound funny, but I come onto my blog about once a week, and I should post whenever I come on, but I never have anything fantastic to say. So, the reason I come on it once a week is to see how far along I am. I don't know why I can't keep track of it this pregnancy, but I have that baby astrologer thing and so it is my way of keeping track of how far along I am.

Anyway, another thing, I have to say I love the Bachelor. I know a lot of people think that it's an immoral show, which I guess it is, but I love it! I also love Biggest Loser and American Idol. I have it worked out since I don't have a DVR, that I watch American Idol on TV, then watch Biggest Loser on Hulu the following week when it is posted. Another one of my favorites is Castle. Has anyone seen that show? I really like it. My father-in-law is actually the one that got me hooked on it. I like Law and Order: SVU. And I like The Office! I like Shark Tank, and I actually like watching The Suze Orman show. Okay, so it sounds like I am a huge TV addict! I have every night covered, but, actually I don't really like any daytime shows, and Jon isn't home in the evenings, so I get my stuff done during the day so I can watch my evening shows.

I know this post is totally random, but sometimes it is best to just post what pops up into your mind! Anyway, time to sign off! The Bachelor starts in 10 minutes ;)
