Have any of you or your kids ever burned toast, popcorn, or anything else for that matter? And the smell of the burnt whatever lingers for days? Well, my Princess K decided to make herself some toast last night. She made a couple just fine. But then she decided she needed to make some for all of us. I was in doing something else, when all of the sudden, here comes the burnt smell. I walk into the kitchen, and it is full of smoke, and there is princess, trying to take the black -- I wouldn't even call it toast at this point-- whatever it had transformed into, out of the toaster. She said, "Mommy, something happened to my toast!" I was thinking, "Do ya think?" I just pulled it out and threw it away, and from there we all went to bed. Needless to say, I could not sleep last night because the smell was awful. So, this morning when Jon woke up, I also woke up. I got on the internet and researched a way to get rid of the smell once and for all. I am usually skeptical of the suggestions people give on the internet to solve matters, because usually the suggestions vary. However, in this case it was all the same suggestion- use vinegar. People said they put vinegar in bowls and set it around the house, others said they just boiled it in the kitchen. I decided to give it a go. So, I go into my kitchen, and, of course, I have no vinegar. I keep looking, and finally I find some Apple Cider Vinegar. So, I pour it in a pan and boil it. Immediately the burnt toast smell is gone. I also took the pan and just walked into each of the rooms with it. As I sit here writing this post, all I am smelling is the cider vinegar-- which smells a whole heck of a lot better than burnt toast. Some of you may have already known this little tidbit works, but I didn't, now I do, so I thought I would share it with all of you because I know that most people will have this experience at least once in your life, if not more. Well, I hope you enjoy and find this information useful!

That is so interesting! Look at your little chef, I bet that makes it easier that she can cook for you guys while you are getting ready for finals! Haha! How are those going anyways?
That is very good info! I didn't know that! Thanks!
So good to know! It seems like something is always getting burnt. How about the smell of bacon? It never goes away. I wonder if vinegar would work on that too?!?
